Hello, everyone!

My name is Sorax! I am 26 years old, born at the beginning of October in 1994. I have lived in Minnesota all of my life, living in a small town in the west metro. I have an older sister who is six years older than I am.

For most of my life, I always believed that I would one day grow up to be a police officer like my father, always wanting to help others. However, it was my second year at BSU, Bemidji State University, where I took a video productions class and found that I thoroughly enjoyed creating videos. I was still taking Criminal Justice courses during that time, but after seeing some rather graphic photos I found that I just couldn’t stomach the sight of other people’s blood. Discovering that, I transferred to SCSU, St. Cloud State University, to join their Mass Communications program. I stuck with having Criminal Justice as a minor, not wanting to completely give up on my Criminal Justice roots. Then, three years later, I graduated with a Mass Communications degree.

For as long as I can remember, I have always had a deep passion for writing fiction and anything Disney related. Many of my first video games on the Gameboy Advance and the GameCube were Disney related. It was then my world was changed when my grandparents gave my sister a manga that had Disney characters in it with many characters I didn’t recognize at first. This manga was Kingdom Hearts and thus, began my journey into the wonderful world of more advanced gaming and cosplay. It had actually been a friend of mine in homeroom who told me about Kingdom Hearts also being a video game, and since then, I’ve been obsessed.

When I wasn’t at school or playing softball, I could be found playing Kingdom Hearts on my family’s PS2. The best part was that my parents hadn’t gotten me the first game but rather Kingdom Hearts II. It was rather confusing the first time I played, especially since our PS2 didn’t have a memory card at that time, so I was constantly restarting the game whenever I wanted to play. Once we got a memory card, I moved the PS2 from the living room into my folks’ bedroom, where the only other television was in the house, and that’s where I would be found yelling at Donald for not healing me or telling a Heartless or a bad guy to leave me alone as I have Sora roll around out of harms way. My parents would usually come in to see if I was okay XD.

Now, Kingdom Hearts wasn’t just my first PS2 video game, but also what influenced my very first cosplay. In April of 2016, my sister, brother-in-law, and I went to the anime convention, Anime Detour, where I cosplayed Sora from Kingdom Hearts II as his Valor Form and his main outfit. I didn’t get a chance to truly style my wig, since I was giving it while at the con and didn’t really have the correct supplies to do so, but it was still my first wig and I adored it. Since then, I have cosplayed as Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II and Jaden Yuki from Yu-Gi-Oh GX at Animinneapolis and Anime Fusion and I know that there are many more cosplays out there that I want and will do in the future.

My dream is to someday finish a novel and get it published.
